Application of Infrared Spectrum in Judgement of Counterfeits

Fourier-translation Infrared Spectrography combined with Diffuse Reflection Apparatus can obtain the infrated spectrum of samples in original state without destruction quickly and conveniently.So attempts has been carried out to judge the counterfeit of jewels,bank notes,stamps and others.The experimental results show that there are some characteristic absorption rules in the infrared spectrum analysis.Such as the finger print region absorptions of infrared spectrum between the true and false jewels different obviously.The bank notes and stamps seem not so deviately but still can be used as detective criterion.The study shows that the infrared spectrum analysis can play a supporting role in the judgement of counterfeits by other methods and make them more scientifically and correctly.
