TopN Prominent Streak Algorithm

The prominent streak sequence is an important research area in time series data analysis.In a given time-series data,a continuous sequence is contained of a subset together with the maximum or minimum value of this subset,if the continuous sequence is not contained by any other continuous sequences,this continuous sequence is called a Prominent streak(PS)in the time-series data.This algorithm lists all significant sequence and does not provide a method to find the most important PS sets.In order to solve the problem,this paper presents TopN PS algorithm.The algorithm sorts PSs to provide the most significant TopN sequence based on data characteristics.In this paper,the experimental results show that the TopN significant continuous sequential algorithm improves the efficiency of finding PSs,also improves the efficiency for data feature extraction.
