The techniques of image-based rendering have recently received more attention as a powerful alternative technique than traditional geometry-based techniques for virtual reality. Instead of geometric primitives, collections of sample images are used to render novel views. Image-based rendering becomes one of constructing a continuous representation of the plenoptic function from observed discrete samples images, which are photoed by camera or are derived from computer. This paper presents a new mosaics algorithm of cylindrical panoramic images, which makes images matching correctly and promptly.
