Novel hybrid adaptive blind equalizer

This paper proposes a novel hybrid adaptive blind equalization algorithm for QAM signal.The proposed algorithm combines the advantages of Modified CMA(MCMA) and the Alphabet-Matched Algorithm(AMA),based on setting adaptive forgetting factor λ ,the cost function is adaptively weighted sum of two separate well-defined cost functions;one is identical to the MCMA case,and the other corresponds to the AMA case.The novel algorithm is proposed and studied,and compared with other three CMA algorithm based on a blind equalization of QAM system.The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm effectively reduces the steady-state error and symbol error rate,and has better convergence rate,which greatly improves the performance of the system.
