Expanding key size of IDEA

Hao Lin · Jisuanji gongcheng yu sheji · 2004

As a well-known encryption algorithm, IDEA is widely used in many fields, such as PGP. The standard IDEA is introduced and improved. One method offered is to expand the key size from 128 to 832 bits to strengthen its security greatly. Another proposed is to transplant the algorithm from 16-bit computations to 32-bit ones to achieve double key space to 21664 at the most and double block size.
