Even and Odd Multiwavelets

An algorithmic approach to the construction of even and odd multiwavelets by the use of the idea of multiresolution analysis(MRA) are presented . These wavelets have not only more freedom in the design of multiwavelets than scalar wavelets but also possess many desired properties such as invariable short support, arbitrary high odd or even vanishing moment, odd or even functions, regularity and orthogonality. This suggests that multiwavelet systems can provide perfect reconstruction, good performance at the boundaries(symmetry), and high approximation order(vanishing moment).
