GIS for water resources is the infrastructure of digital and modern water resources services,the base platform for modern water resources business application and public services,so it is the important project in the promotion of the spreading information explosion in water resources industry.In this article,main introduction is conducted on design objectives,system framework,updating of collected geographical information,corresponding demonstration software and standards,as well as technologies for the system implementation of Jiangsu provincial GIS for water resources.It is hoped that the paper can provide reference for the construction of GIS for water resources.
