Intrusion detection has been widely used in many fields, such as empty-nesters care, valuables monitoring and safety protection. In this paper, the Wi-Fi based indoor passive intrusion detection technology that utilizes existing wireless infrastructure is presented. With access to indoor RSS variation under normal and intruding circumstances, the intrusion is analyzed and judged by machine learning methods. The results of theoretical analysis and experiment show that this method can effectively determine intrusion and has the features of strong practicability and passive detection.
