The visual methods of magnetic tipper are investigated in this article. A new definition of imaginary induction vector and other visual vectors of magnetic tipper are presented in terms of the relation between vector and complex number; and their rotational property is discussed. On the basis of the invariance of induction vectors under the coordinate rotation and some characteristics of two-dimensions, we defined a parameter so called tipper 2d-approximator(C) which can be used as the criteria to evaluate how close it is to the 2d-model. Using three 2d-models and a 3d-model, we carry out the calculations by applying the new visual method of tipper vector; and apply the method to processing and interpreting the data taken from the great-earthquake region of Haiyuan. By the aforementioned works, the response characteristics of the induction vectors, especially of the imaginary induction vector are manifested. The results of the theoretical modeling and of the practical application show that the induction vectors and tipper 2d-approximator(C) defined in this article do have explicit physical meanings.
