Geo-spatial data become much easier to collect with techniques for gathering geographic information growing rapidly. These techniques have created and are creating digital data in spatial database in which the amounts of data increase exponentially. The scope and coverage of spatial data are so different from those facing us before that they easily overwhelm traditional spatial statistical methods and spatial analysis techniques. It becomes ever demanding to develop techniques to handle spatial datasets effectively and efficiently in data-rich environment we are now facing currently.Spatial data mining, developed as a promising emerging field from 1990's,shows its advantages in research and practice. In this period,Geographical visualization techniques are also growing and maturing. Thus people find that the two techniques would be integrated to develop a totally new spatial data analysis technique——visual interactive spatial data mining. In this paper, the authers addressed related issues in this field.
