An image watermarking based on fractal coding

A new image watermarking algorithm based on fractal is proposed.It can be used in color images and gray-scale images.The method changes the search range of the domain block and also geometry transform.Not only one watermark but also two watermarks of different kinds can be embedded in the two insertion phases.No original image is required for watermarking extraction.Simulation results show that the one-watermark-inserted algorithm has higher reliability of the watermark extraction when the watermarked image is attacked,especially by cropping.The two-watermark-inserted algorithm extends its application area and can be used to protect copyrights and track the illegal dispense of the legal users.
