Application of Principal Curve to Data Analysis of Traffic Safety

On the basis of the nonparametric feature of traffic safety data,principal curve was applied to analyzing the tremendous traffic safety data in this paper.A curve getting across the middle of the data set was acquired through the analysis of traffic safety data by the HS principal curve algorithm of unknown distributed data set.Research result shows that the principal curve,passing through the middle of traffic safety data set,can well describe non-linearity of those data,and can be regarded as the reference of performing management standards.Furthermore,a practical case shows that principal curve has a promising application in traffic safety.
