IP Address Assignment Mechanisms In Ad Hoc Networks

This paper introduces the principle and implementation of several typical mechanisms used recently in IP address assignment of ad hoc networks, analyzes their advantages and disadvantages, and makes comparison of the mechanisms on relative performances such as communication overhead, convergence speed and scalability. Finally, several key issues and direction related to implementation of IP address assignment of ad hoc networks are pointed out.
