Individual Risk Analysis and Researches of City Gas Pipelines
Mao Lıu · China Public Security · 2009
The city gas pipelines that carrying flammable and explosive media threaten public safety of urban area, and may cause severe deaths and property loss as a result of pipelines, failure. Based on the failure mode of jet fire, this paper discussed relative parameters, such as failure frequency, gas release rate and death probability, and provided corresponding models. Additionally, with the combination of assumed case and calculation models, the author analyzed the relationship of distances and death probability and individual risk. Finally, based on the outcome of the assumed case, the author clarified the impact of parameters’ variations on death probability. The conclusions indicated that this model can be well applied to calculate individual risk of city gas pipelines. The calculated outcomes provided assistant decision-making for engineering application, and reduced deaths and property loss effectively.
