Implementation of Multicast in Ethernet Switch

At present, wideband-based multimedia applications have become the hot point. Thus a new kind of data transmission technology-multicast, emerged to fully exploit the limited network resources. This paper firstly describes the general knowledge of multicast , then focuses on introduction of Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP). In the end the author based on her project discusses the realization of multicast on a specific layer2 switch.
