Application of sulfuryl fluoride at Xiamen port and some typical cases

As an efficient,environment-friendly and safe fumigant,sulfuryl fluoride is widely used at points of entry for implementation of quarantine treatment upon vehicles(except aircraft),recyclable used goods,containers,some food,and so on.In order to use this fumigant in a more scientific and standardized way and ensure the quality and safety of quarantine treatment,this paper has a general review on the application status of sulfuryl fluoride at Xiamen,as well as some typical cases of its application.On the basis of some useful experiences learned and existing problems,the authors recommend that a more reasonable system for sulfuryl fluoride application should be developed,and natural characteristics of port,cargo types,vector species,and other impact factors may be taken into consideration.
