Wavelet Analysis Applications to Research on Model of Short-Term Sales Forecasting

The short-term sales forecasting is one of the key problems of MIS(Management Information System). The uncertainty of sales becomes more and more seriously because of too many facts influencing sales, so the general approaches is unable to forecast effectively. This paper introduced a method that applies wavelet analysis to short-term sales forecast. By wavelet decomposing ,time series is decomposed to different scales. We get the forecasting of original time series by building model and forecasting for each scale and composing the result. The method is of high precision and feasible through an example test.
