The development and application of archiving in spatio-temporal data management

Spatio-temporal data management has always been the emphasis and difficulty of fundamental geographic information system database building.This paper introduces geodatabase archiving,a newly added function of ArcGIS9.2,ArcGIS provides this function for managing spatio-temporal data specially,then presents the key technology and method how to develop and apply the function based on ArcEngine and ArcSDE to manage spatio-temporal data and realize historical retrospect.
