Overview of River Coding Technology at Home and Abroad

Along with the development of water resources informatization,many river coding technologies came into being at home and abroad to solve topological relation of hydrographic net as well as relations between hydrographic features and related properties.The author makes a summarization about river coding technology all around the world,such as river coding systems of North American Pfafstetter,Europe,China,and U.S.A.NHD,also gives an analysis and estimation on their advantages and disadvantages.The paper provides use of reference for developing domestic river coding technology,and is favourable for river related properties information management and sharing.
