Analysis of Cache Coherence of Multiprocessor System

The main development trend of microprocessors is parallel processor system.In order to support higher processor speed,multiprocessors must use cache.This paper introduces two structures of the multiprocessor system: centralized shared-memory architectures and distributed memory architecture;it expatiates on the multiprocessor cache coherence problem and the solution of it,it also discusses snooping protocol and directory protocol.The snooping protocol includes the write invalidated protocol and write updated protocol,in this paper the write invalidated protocol is emphasized.It compares the state of the cache block of the write invalidated protocol and the directory protocol and the transition of them.
