Evaluation Model and Distributed Emulation for Reliability of Fault-Tolerant Computer Systems

Evaluation for reliability of fault-tolerant computer systems is important and difficult.The paper first describes the failure model for components of computer system.Then the evaluation model of the whole system is established.Based on the established failure model,a distributed simulation model is given,which uses one computer to emulate one component and a server to process data of the whole system.The computers and the server are connected by a network,they corporate to finish the emulation of the whole fault-tolerant computer systems.Numerical results verify the validity of the evaluation model and effectiveness of the emulation method.
