On the Basic Sentence Patterns of English

Grammar is the core of English while basic sentence patterns are the core of grammar.Thus this paper analyzes the characteristics and usages of these patterns and holds that all sentences in English can be shortened into these five basic patterns no matter how complex they are.It is of great significance to do this research.
