Improving TCP performance for mobile ad hoc networks through employing end-to-end identification

Junqing Zhang · Journal of Hefei University of Technology · 2008

The traditional TCP protocol is not appropriate for the speciality of ad hoc network environment. In this paper,a TCP improving scheme based on end-to-end identification is proposed on the basis of analysis of present schemes.Using the feature of data's one-way transmission latency, this scheme firstly calls the receiver side to identify the network state. Then the sender side will take reasonable measures in light of network state information carried by back ACK data package. The simulation result has proved the feasibility and efficiency of the proposal.
