Power control technology and multi-user joint detection technology are the key techniques in order to improve capacity in the 3rd generation mobile communication systems which can get rid of near-far effect and multi-access interference. This paper proposes a novel asymmetric adaptive variable step power control algorithm in TD-HSUPA system to compensate the fixed step power control algorithm, because fixed step power control algorithm can't keep up with the fast fading signaling ideally. This algorithm takes into account delay performance and non-continuous transmission mode in TD-HSUPA system, and the next power control step is decided by the first three TPC commands. At the same time, the multi-user joint detection algorithm is introduced into the power control technology.By the simulation in the physical layer simulation platform of TD-HSUPA system, joint power control algorithm based on ZF-BLE is more effective on decreasing BER and the convergence of SIR than fixed step power control algorithm.
