Research and Application on Superscalar Microprocessors

This paper firstly introduces the basics of the superscalar microprocessor structure, then discusses the characteristics of the structure and analyzes the performance. Besides, the paper focuses on the data dependence and control dependence, and explains the Tomasulo algorithm and scoreboard algorithm specifically to solve the problem. In the last part of the essay, Dynamic Branch Prediction and Reorder Buffer is discussed as well.
