The automatic generation and optimization of seamline network is a key problem for more remote sensing images mosaic. To solve the problem,a novel method is presented in this paper. The method includes a two-step operation:globally generating the initial seamline network based on the area Voronoi diagrams with overlap followed by refining the generated seamline network based on pixel values in overlaps.By doing so,it can ensure the flexibility and efficiency, avoid the middle results and error accumulation, and make the results have no relationship with the order of images.Further more, the refined seamline network also ensures the quality of mosaicking.Experiments are designed for the validation of the proposed algorithm and they indicate the approach is extremely useful when a seamless mosaic is required to cover a large geographic region.
