Research on Intrusion Detection Technology Based on Genetic Algorithms

In order to solve the problem that IDS couldn't detect undefined intrusion behavior effectively, presents an algorithm of anomaly detection oriented to computer network. This algorithm is based on the robustness and adaptability of the genetic algorithms, so it makes up the traditional statistic detection's defect which it ignored multivariable correlations of variables in computer network environment. This algorithm uses the normal network traffic data without attack to train and study, meanwhile it uses multi-dimension space to describe these data. Finally it applies a set of detection rules that evolved by genetic algorithms to detecting anomaly data.
