An XML-based Algebra with Tree Structure

Yu Fang · Jisuanji fangzhen · 2008

To remove the limitations of the inquiry function of relative algebra(a data model) in Web emulation, this paper introduces a kind of formalized bulk algebranamed, TAX (Tree Algebra based on XML). The data model of TAX is a forest structure composed of labeled and ordered trees. It combines relative algebra cluster together, brings forth the Tree Node and the Entire Tree, and frames the Pattern Tree and the Witness Tree to design some data enquiry functions. The research on TAX emulation shows that TAX can not only act on XML data, but also turn the XML query language facing the users into highly effective query language facing the XML data. At the same time, TAX can achieve the direct-viewing of data, the accuracy of calculation and effective optimization, and thus expressing the maximum XML inquiry.
