Discussion on Issues about Laser Emitter Monitoring for HVDC Light Triggered Thyristor Valve

The light triggered thyristor valves,which are directly triggered by laser,are used in Guizhou-Guangdong ±500 kV HVDC Ⅰ,Ⅱ power transmission lines and Lingbao HVDC back-to-back project.To ensure reliable laser trigger pulse,the laser emitter is monitored real-timely by valve base electronics on line.Some issues about laser emitter monitoring are discussed in this paper.
