A Design of Portable Iris Recognition System and Algorithm Based on SoC

The iris recognition is a new biometrics recognition technology.It can reach the precision veracity.The high veracity of iris recognition is the special feature in numerous biometrics recognition technologies.In this paper,a portable embedded iris recognition system based on SoC is designed.The SoC system consists of five parts of Power Manager and interface Circuit,Iris Acquisition part,Iris Processing part(DSP+ARM),Memory,Human-Machine Communicating Equipment(LCD and keyboards).Additionally,some experiences during debugging are expressed.Some kinds of biometric recognition techniques used in embedded system are introduced.Then,the main development of iris recognition technique and the structure of iris recognition system are discussed in detail.The algorithms of iris recognition have also been studied deeply which include pre-processing,feature extraction,and pattern match.The test shows that the performance of this SoC iris recognition system is good.
