A New Fast Multiscale Wedgelet Algorithm for SAR Image Segmentation

The wedgelet that was recently proposed by Donoho have been captured geometrical structure successfully in images, but it has a drawback which is due to annoying the last segmentation result and huge amount of calculation. Based on the analysis of Wedgelet Transform's principle, we proposed the efficient multiscale wedgelet segmentation algorithm. In choosing the wedgelets to form the segment, we can only calculate eight wedgelets not the all. At last, we applied this algorithm to some SAR images and compared the segmentation result with the Domoho's, experiments show that our algorithm in this paper are better than it.
