Artifacts Removing Techniques on EEG Waveforms

Artifacts are a long-standing and harassing problem related to the validity and efficiency of studies in the cognitive or clinical applications dependent on electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings.Several new techniques of artifacts removing are developed and applied recently, such as regression-based methods, artifact subtraction, principal component analysis (PCA),independent component analysis (ICA) and joint approximate diagonalisation of eignmatrices (JADE) etc.Compared with traditional methods, these techniques are proven significantly excellent and consistent and can be used in real-time applications. But all these techniques are based on specific assumptions and should be used with caution.
