An Improved Retransmission Policy for RTX-CWND

As a representative of retransmission policies for end-to-end Concurrent Multipath Transfer( CMT) using transport layer multihoming, the retransmission policy of RTX_CWND,which use the path with maximum CWND to retransmission data, can reduce receive buffer blocking and alleviate some of throughput degradation occurred by receive buffer blocking. However,RTXCWND ignores the influence of RTT for retransmission path selection and receive buffer blocking. An improved retransmission policy named RTX-RTTCWND is presented, which take into account both path characteristic such as RTT and CWND to select the best retransmission path and to further alleviate throughput degradation by reducing receive buffer blocking. The simulation reveals that the improved retransmission policy outperforms traditional retransmission policy such as RTX-CWND in aspects of TSN data block at receiver, transfer time and throughput of end-to-end.
