A new higher order curvature compensated method for current-mode CMOS voltage reference is presented. It is based on the gate-source voltage of an NMOS operating in sub-threshold region and a PTAT voltage produced by the weighted difference of the gate source voltage of two different NMOSs.According to different dependence of current on temperature, the presented method compensates the higher order nonlinear terms firstly, then does the linear term, differentiating from the traditional compensated methods.A current mode CMOS voltage reference is designed on the basis of this kind of higher order curvature-compensated method. It doesn't use bipolar transistors so as to improve the performance of the reference circuit obviously, neither does it use operational amplifier,so it has no maladjustment voltage. The simulation result shows that the presented compensation method is feasible.
