The Research on Determination of Sound Velocity Profile in Surveying Area using Multibeam Data

With the measurement of sound velocity profile(SVP) together,the effect of errors in SVP on multibeam data is analyzed.A beam launched at 45°in multibeam system has very low sensitivity to SVP.Then SVP error in crossing areas of the primary survey lines and the checklines can be computed using data from the 45°beam and SVP of some points can be computed.Then,SVP of other points can be extrapolated using SVP of these points.The effect of errors in SVP on multibeam data can be reduced and the quality of multibeam data becomes credible.
