Objective To estimate the reliability and validity of Modified Falls Risk for Older People in the Community Screening Tool(MFROP-Com) in fall risk assessment of older people in community. Methods The MFROP-Com was applied among 211 older people for fall risk assessment, the result of which in turn was applied to assess the reliability and validity of it.Meanwhile, prediction accuracy of MFROP-Com was evaluated by ROC.Results Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.804,and Pearson's correlation coefficient ranged between 0.199 and 0.700,which suggested there were significantly positive relationships among the scores of each item and the total score of MFROP-Com.Spearman correlation coefficient was-0.824,which indicated there was significantly negative relationship between MFROP-Com and Modified Fall Efficacy Scale.Besides,AUC reached 0.862 and maximum Youden index was up to 0.592,sensitivity of 0.800,specificity of 0.792,positive predictive value of 80.7% and negative predictive value of 78.4% once critical value reached 11.50.Conclusion MFROP-Com is proved to be a simple, convenient and safe assessment method with good reliability and validity, which could be applied for the fall risk assessment of older patients.
