Encryption technology is the basis of information security. It has great significance of the military and national defense. This paper studies comprehensively the encryption technology. It points out the differences of image encryption and text encryption. Then it introduces some common image encryption technologies. The image technology is stimulated by chaotic image technology. The simulation results show that chaotic encryption technology has good results in image encryption. The paper further points out that chaotic map can avoid the dynamic degradation. And the encryption arithmetic of chaotic map has a high encryption speed and enough security. So it is a very promising encryption technology.
