Relay Node Placement Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks

The sensor nodes are far away from sink node in Wireless Sensor Networks( WSN). Relay nodes are required to join with the network in order to forward data. The relay node placement directly influences the energy consumption in WSN. To solve this problem,constraint conditions were added to the relay node placement. The paper proposed a relay node placement approach based on greedy algorithm and realized the minimum energy consumption in wireless sensor networks through the local optimum greedy strategy. According to the greedy algorithm,the theoretical analysis and experimental results prove that the number of relay node is fewer. The total energy consumption of WSN is less.
