Power spectral estimation of power system fault transient signal

Using frequency spectrum estimation of stationary stochastic process,the frequency domain character can be identified by power spectrum of signal.Some basic ideas and important conclusion are proposed.The spectrum estimation method is used to analyze the frequency domain character of fault transient signal in power system.From different sides of the frequency spectrum studies the fault signal characters and features of HV transmission line in power system.It can be usefully referred in new type protection study applying fault high frequency transient noise.The data from EMTP prove that this method is feasible.
