Design and Development of Storeroom Management System Based on Bar Code

Objective To design a modular storeroom management system in order to change the situation that the grass-root force was still using the management mode of manual operation which had lower efficiency and more chance making mistakes and had more repetitive tasks.Methods Based on Windows XP/Windows 7 operating system,using bar code scanner and computer as hardware platform,the storage of medicine and devices was realized,conditional check was facilitated,statistical reports was generated automatically and various prompt alarm function was achieved.Results The system had run safely and stably and met the needs of scientific and standardized management and fully received the expected results during the test run for about six months.Conclusion The system improves management efficiency and provides a powerful tool for medicine and device information management in hospital.
