The frequency domain electro-prospecting methods of various kinds are analyzed and compared.Their merits and weaknesses are pointed out also.The an series pseudo-random signal electro-prospecting method(an SPSEM) to be emphatically introduced and discussed has a series of advantages,such as it has a lot of main frequency components,the signal amplitudes of the main frequencies are basically equal,their amplitudes aren't weakened when the frequency is gone up,the intervals between the adjoining main frequencies logarithmically even and reasonable,the frequency band covered by these main frequencies is very broad,etc.The an SPSEM is a new frequency domain electro-prospecting method,it is worth to be extended and applied.
