An Ontology-driven Information Sharing Model in a Supply Chain

Using ontology modeling method,this paper explores the solutions to information sharing problem with semantically heterogeneous information in a supply chain.A customer ontology model for a supply chain is constructed firstly.Based on the customer ontology,an ontology-driven information sharing model in a supply chain is proposed.Then a basic framework of the model is developed.Under such a framework,the ontology-driven information sharing process and the behavior of requester and responder of information sharing in a supply chain are discussed in detail.The ontology-based model achieves the information sharing at the semantic level with higher efficiency and less manual intervention.
