A semantic description method of data element

With establishment of standards for data elements,data elements play an important role in data integration.Nowadays,the semantics of data element is explained in natural languages,which can't meet the requirement to use data element automatically in computer.With methods about ontology,a formal approach is presented to define semantics of data element,in which the concepts in domain ontology are considered as atomic concepts,and the data element is considered as composition concept,and the tree structure is defined to describe semantics of data element.A XML schema and graphic structure are defined to express semantic tree.
