Analysis and improvement of the instability on Ad Hoc networks

In this paper, it analyzes the instability problem of TCP connections, and proposes the optimization of TCP parameters and the improvement of 802.11 protocols to solve this problems. The DWDB (Double Windows Dynamic Backoff ) mechanism which just needs to modify the exponential back-off algorithm and retransmission scheme in 802.11 MAC sub layer is proposed. And the simulation results show that the problems mentioned above have been solved to great extend after using the new mechanism.
