MPEG 4 Video Verification Model

The MPEG 4 is an emerging coding standard.In addition to the “frame” based functionalities of the MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 standards,the MPEG 4 video coding algorithm will also support access and manipulation of “objects” within video scenes in multimedia environments.This paper gives an overview of the new functionalities the MPEG 4 video coding standard will support,and describes the structure of version 4.0 of the MPEG 4 video Verification Model (VM).
