ANALYSIS OF THE RANDOM-FUZZY RELIABILITY BASED ON THE INFORMATION ENTROPY THEORY

Based on the principle of the information entropy theory that the information entropy of a variable does not change with its expressed type,the fuzzy variables in a structural analysis were transformed into random ones or the random variables into fuzzy ones.Then,the strength reliability degree of a structure was solved out by use of the random reliability method,the random-fuzzy reliability one and the fuzzy reliability one,respectively.Finally,the strength reliability degree of a pressure vessel was given by the three methods above.The comparisons indicate that the results from the three methods are much close to one another and the transformation method is effective.
