The Study of TCP Retransmission Timeout Algorithm
Zhang Wei · Computer Knowledge and Technology · 2007
This article focuses on the TCP Retransmission Timeout Arithmetic. The latest research shows that 83%~95% IP flux is controlled by TCP1, and 13% TCP packet must be retransmitted2.But half of the packets are not necessary. The causation of this is almost all the Arithmetic adopted by TCP is the same with the phenomenon that the flux in the network is very small, when the flux increases, it will result in congestion. This Arithmetic can not do well, and will bring infinite effect on throughput. After introduce the basic conception of the traditional Retransmission Timeout Arithmetic, this article analyses the traditional Arithmetic by experimentation, and last analyses the direction of study.
