A new kind of polyurethane-acrylate macromonomer was synthesized by IPDI,HEMA,PEG and EG,then it was copolymerized with methyl methacrylate(MMA),forming a novel amphiphilic polymer which contained hydrophobic and hydrophilic chains. The final polymer was blended with the poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF) and prepared membranes by L-S phase inversion. The structure of the macromonomer was characterized by FT-IR and the molecular weight of the amphiphilic polymer was determined by GPC.The properties of the ultrafiltration membranes were obtained by measuring the pure water permeation flux, retention of the bovine serum albumin(BSA) solution, contact angle(CA) and the fouling tendency of the membranes. The results showed that the pure water permeation flux improved from 23.4 L/(m2·h) to 78 L/(m2·h) with no significant decline of retention of BSA solution when content of the amphiphilic polymer was 5% in the bulk composition.CA decreased from 79° to 62° when content of the amphiphilic polymer vary from 0~15%.Flux decline measurement revealed that the antifouling tendency of the membranes was enhanced after modification.
