Particle swarm optimization algorithm based on population density

Particle swarm optimizer is a simple stochastic global optimization technique.The cooperative evolution in the field of ecology is incorporated into original particle swarm optimizer,and a population density-based particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed.The proposed algorithm changes adaptively subpopulation size based on multipopulation Lotka-Volterra competitive function.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is superior to original particle swarm optimization algorithm.
