Research and Implementation of Packing Technology for PE Files

In order to safeguard the interests of the software developers, using software protection technology to encrypt the software has become an essential part of software development process. It is an effective method to protect software by packing Portable Executable (PE) files. But the packing software, which is commonly used and always has corresponding unpacking software, cannot fully satisfy the requirement to protect software. Based on the analysis of the PE file format and loading mechanism, this paper designs and implements a packing program for PE files. The experimental results show that it's an effective packing program for software protection.
